What to Bring & What is included?
For all of our backpacker tours of Scotland here's a little list of things to make packing your backpack a little easier! (Don't panic if you don't have one ... smallish suitcases are ok too!)
Bedding & Towels
You won’t need to carry your bedding! Clean bedding is provided all the way. It is advisable to bring your own towel as not all hostels will have them for rent.
Clothing and Footwear
Something warm, something waterproof, a full change of clothes and good sturdy shoes for walking – unfortunately we don’t have a sunshine hotline and we will be doing stuff regardless of the weather!!!
Trekking shoes or trainers / sneakers for other tours.
Swimwear - sometimes the weather is hot - there is always a chance to swim!
Luggage
We don't have left luggage facilities so a small suitcase or backpack for the tour would be appreciated!
Drink
Thanks very much, mine’s a pint! There are plenty of chances to enjoy the local beer and whisky – no surprises, NOT included in the tour price!!
Food, Accommodation & attractions - the Kitty
Relax, it’s all included (apart from lunch, beers & souvenirs.) Your full payment includes the tour price AND a kitty for breakfast, evening meals, accommodation, ferries and all entrance fees written in the itinerary.
The kitty must be paid in cash (sterling) on the morning of the tour – all the money is spent on you and none of it goes back to Wild In Scotland
kitty for breakfast, evening meals, accommodation, ferries and all entrance fees written in the itinerary. To find out what is included on your tour of Scotland, select the tour from the list below:
- 2 Day Loch Ness Tour
- 3 Day Skye & Highlands Tour
- 4 Day Islay & Oban Tour
- 4 Day Christmas Cracker Tour
- 4 Day Highland Hogmanay Tour
- 5 Day Skye & Highlands Tour
- 6 Day Hebridean Explorer Tour
- 6 Day Orkney & Highlands Tour
- 10 Day Island Hopper Tour
We stay in small hostels/bunkhouses in beautiful locations – accommodation is in mixed and single sex dorm rooms.
Food-wise, if we’re not having a sit-down meal in a local pub, we muck in together cooking our own grub (you can try Haggis!) Vegetarians: Please tell the driver before the first supermarket sweep so we can help you get what you want. The driver is there to co-ordinate the cooking – he/she will buy the food and the group will then cook and clean up. The driver / guide can then sit back and recharge for the next day's touring.
